London Savate Open – Our First International Experience
We had a wonderful match day at the London Savate Open on 4 July 2026. For me personally, it was the first time stepping into the role of both official and coach, which made the day especially meaningful. For our club, this was our first international competition, a milestone we will always remember.
Our athletes achieved great things:
Jonathan won the silver medal in the international junior category. He showed strong determination and even tried spinning kicks, which was impressive and well‑received.
Nathan took part in his first Assaut, and his performance was highly rated. He displayed courage, skill, and the true spirit of Savate.
We are deeply grateful for the support of parents, whose encouragement and presence made a huge difference. Their backing helps our athletes grow stronger both inside and outside the ring.
The event also gave us the chance to meet fighters from different countries and discover new styles. This experience showed us clearly what we need to improve and strengthen in the future. It was inspiring to see our students behave with respect, discipline, and sportsmanship — values at the heart of Savate.
A special thanks goes to Santoro, the owner of Savate Live, who not only highlighted Jonathan and Nathan’s fights and ensured the boots were shipped to us as quickly as possible. His support means a lot to us.
Savate Live rated the fights of Jonathan and Nathan highly and wished them further improvement. We share the same hope: that this is just the beginning of their journey, and that they will continue to grow with every match.
